Happy New Year!

Or Good Riddance 2010!

Happy New Year!

So the whole world has now made it through into 2011 and we've left 2010 behind - and I'm glad to see the back of 2010 as it's not been a great year. But some recent news should hopefully mean 2011 will be a much better year. At least I hope it will, if it's not I'm giving up on life and I'm going to live in a cardboard box under a bridge!

So we started the new year with a relaxing day out with Fish and Chips in Wetwang! Very nice, indeed.

After our chips we headed towards Malton, but the back through Burdale where the road very closely follows the path of the Malton and Driffield Railway and can make for a fascinating visit. Burdale is a beautiful part of the wold, by-passed by most traffic as people head north towards Pickering and the Moors.

Hopefully one day trains will one day run again along this line - if the Yorkshire Wolds Railway Restoration Project succeed, which I think they ultimately will, then this is a distinct possibility.

  1. I hope that bridge isn't the one that you'll be sleeping under. It seems to be distinctly lacking in the roof department!

Best wishes to you and your family for the New Year, and may 2011 bring you stability and warmth.
