Over the weekend we visited the Cleethorpes MRS exhibition - it's a really lovely show and a great laid back atmosphere.
Of note was Gordon Luck's new layout Donnington on Bain (a good overview of the prototype can be found here) It's in P4 and was presented as a work in progress, which is great for visitors to see how things are done! It's a great layout and shows that even for a continuous run you don't need a huge area, even in P4!
Also on display was the Hessle MRG's ?Battersby North End which is a very convincing take on Battersby in North Yorkshire set in the poor relation of D&E modelling, the Sectorisation era.
The Scarborough Society's N gauge layout The North of England Line was also present and does show N gauge in a very good light. There was a nice scratchbuilt J83 too which, if i have got this correct, appears here.
And finally, a layout not necessarily to my taste bu Thomas loved it! He's fascinated by turntables since he first saw the turntable at the National Railway Museum moving!
I've not posted much on here lately - lots of railway stuff going on though! As a taster, just a couple of views of a tamper and regulator we had through Crabley the other night. They're setting up ready to follow the High Output Ballast Cleaner (HOBC) which is spending the summer on the Hull - Selby line.
